Koh Samui Weather

Koh Samui is a tropical island situated in the Gulf of Thailand and as such the Koh Samui Weather is best described as tropical. So what does tropical weather mean and what is the weather like in Koh Samui from month to month?

One of the main characteristics of tropical weather is an almost constant temperate climate without the excesses (certainly from a temperature point of view) of the Winter or Summer seasonal variations.

In Koh Samui there is generally speaking only 2-3 degrees Celsius difference in the monthly max temperatures and also only 2-3 degrees of difference between the minimum monthly temperature variations.

Where there is a distinct difference between the climate figures for Koh Samui is in the mm of rain and also in the number of hours of sun in a month, this is where the seasonal variations are more apparent

The monthly rainfall figures vary from less than 10mm in February to over 300mm in November and the difference in the hours of sun per month ranges from less than 110 in July to almost 300 in December.

Obviously these seasonal fluctuations need to be taken into account when you are considering booking your Koh Samui Travel arrangements.

Below are a selection of thumbnail graphs which when clicked will open up in larger format in a lightbox, its hoped that these will give you a better understanding of the seasonal fluctuations in the Koh Samui Weather.
